Equilibrium

Freedom and fear are often thought of as opposite and competing entities. Everyone wants to be free and no one wants to live in fear. We may think of these as two things that are so separate they will never be in conflict with one another. While they may compete in ideology they are also closely related. Because people often fear losing their freedom, they willingly give it away in an attempt to maintain it. Freedom and fear drive one another in a loop of push and pull. We must work to find a balance of the two. The struggle between fear and freedom is different for each individual. It drives us in the decisions we make, the actions we take, and how we choose to represent ourselves.
